So I am back in my most favourite city, I love it here so much, yes it is the wonderful Marrakech. I have been invited back to Riyad Al Moussika,

Riyad Al Moussika is situated in the heart of the ancient medina of Marrakech, just a five minutes stroll from the world famous Jemaa El Fna Square. The riad was once one of the residences of the former Pasha of Marrakech,Thami El Glaoui, and, in keeping with this glorious history, has been refurbished to a very high standard in the traditional Andalucian style.

Being located in the heart of the bustling medina, you would expect noise, but the idyllic setting of this traditional riad offers you a space of peace, tranquillity and calm. The gate of Riyad Al Moussika like most is deceptive, it opens onto a beautiful garden where old cypress trees and a huge bougainvillea climbs across the pergolas, water falls from a white Carrara marble fountain, and an Andalucian basin swimming pool, tiled with a mosaic carpet design, sweeps across the courtyard.

There is also a on-site hammam, I myself can never resist, so I decided to have my favourite treatment a hammam and a massage, a professional masseur was called and I as always had an amazing treatment, leaving me feeling clean and relaxed.

The riad is filled with impressive modern paintings, carpets, sofas and armchairs. There is a hi-fi system and an art deco grand piano.

The riad consists of six double bedrooms all with ensuite bathroom. All rooms have air-conditioning/heating system, telephone with external line, television with the major satellite channels, internet wireless connection is available.

Pepe Nero is the name of the restaurant inside the grounds of the beautiful Riyad Al Mossika, and we have eaten here during our stay. The food is great, there is an amazing choice, either from the Italian or Moroccan menus. I tend to mix the two menus and that is no ptroblem for them, nothing is too much trouble they are always happy to help you.

I have been discussing the menus with my husband and he insists that this beautiful riad’s food is certainly as good as many michellin star restaurants in London. We have been lucky to have been invited to some amazing restaurants over the last 4 years and have sampled many a great meal, but this is certainly up there with all of them. The food is amazing and cannot be faulted, the staff are so attentive and the setting is perfect. I visited this restaurant Pepe Nero on some of my previous visits to Marrakech, as you will know there have been many, but I never tire of visiting.

All of the staff are so kind, making you feel welcome every time you walk through the door, remembering you also. The riad is an equisite example of a boutique riad set within the Medina, and a great location.

The rooms are so special with beautiful detail over the beds and the most amazing ceilings. Each room is unique with either a grand walk in shower or a deep bath which would take you at least half hour to fill. The bedding is lovely crisp cotton and the towels are fluffy as new. We had a beautiful suite which had its own balcony which we used for our breaakfast every morning, perfect to watch the sun rise and get on with my work. Also our own private roof top with sun loungers and table and chairs, this place really is paradise. The service as I have already said is fabulous, We only have to ask and we have icey cold water, fruit juice or a drink of our choice. This riad offers that little bit extra when it comes to service and I think they manage this because their heart is truly in it, I have always said you cannot sell a product unless you are passionate about it and these guys certainly are passionate.

Siiting outside my room writting this, listening to the birds and the trickling of water into the pool below, I reflect on all of my previous visits to Marrakech and I can guarentee I will definertly be back to this Riad, one of the best I have stayed in so far, thank you Chahid and your amazing team for having us stay with you.
