After my fantastic trip to Puglia the next part of my Italian trip had to be something special to compare, we flew from Stansted and I had planned the trip so I thought quite well. We landed in Naples and grabbed a taxi to the port to pick up the ferry, now a word to the wise, when you get in the taxi and the driver asked you where you are off to “DONT SAY CAPRI” instantly their eyes light up and they seem to think you have money and bump the price straight up, we paid 29 euros for a 10 minute ride. So we arrived at the port and it would seem I didn’t researched the ferry over to Capri well enough, there were so many different places to buy the tickets and unfortunately my Italian is non existent so communication started to get a little stressful, if only I had booked it before on line it would have been easier and as I have now found out cheaper.

It’s a short 45 minute crossing with lovely views. We eventually arrived at the port in Capri and picked up a taxi to take us to Casa Boutique, this was another experience a 1950’s vintage Fiat 1400 convertible a little more costly than your standard taxi but well worth the extra.  We arrived and to be honest struggled to find it. The entrance is in a cave in the wall, just a door in the front of a cave and you think this can’t be it surely but it was, we entered the front door and it was superb and not like any other place I had stayed in, the views from the bedroom window were stunning, lying in bed sipping your morning coffee, the smell of the Stone Pine trees was so relaxing.

Late afternoon, after a stroll around the small quaint and I must add expensive shops we would take a bite of lunch in the square enjoy a few Aperol Spritz and wander back to Casa Boutique, then sit on the balcony taking in the views, and of course sample a bottle of Prosecco and wait to watch the sunset.

Casa Boutique is located just a 10 minute walk from Capri city centre.
