So I am back in London after a great four weeks travelling from place to place. I must say as I flew over France and saw the clouds I just knew I had left the sun behind. So its time to put the summer clothes away and bring out the cashmere jumpers, big coats, scarfs and hats. There are so many great knits out on the high street at the moment. Zara never let me down with their classic designs which are suitable for all ages and Asos have some great jumpers and you don’t even have to leave your sofa to buy them, just the kind of shopping I love.

So here are a few tips from me on how to start changing your summer wardrobe back to winter.

1. Sort through all your bikinis and if they look a little grey, discoloured or worse for wear throw them out, this way you can see exactly how many you have left for next summer and bag them up. This is a great time to look out for sale pieces ready for next year.

2. Summer hats I have quite a few so I always bag these up and put them away safely in my hat boxes, dust and sunlight can destroy your favourite hat if you don’t take care of it.

3. Go through all your old jeans and if there are any you no longer wear cut them down ready for next year and start putting them into the wash with your other jeans, a perfect way to get the frayed look.

4. Choose at least one neutral coloured cardigan and one oversized jumper for your winter collection, these can be worn with tee-shirts and shirts.

5. My most loved item of clothing SHOES…… Put all the flip flops and sandals away, after giving them a good clean of course, I always box my summer shoes I know Im not going to wear through the winter and again if I feel like my classics have seen better days I search online for replacements ready for next summer.

5. Put all the summer bags away, you are not going to use any of the beach bags, this will make space for that one special this season purchase on your shelves.

Happy sorting!
