This morning we ventured back into the souks as we needed to pick up a few gifts for our family and have now realised that it would have been a good idea to have taken my iPhone with me as google maps would have come in very handy, guess who left hers behind?
After wandering past endless stalls and getting distracted, we suddenly turn’t around and we were lost.

What not to do unfortunately in the souks we did…..we kept walking ….two hours later we arrived back at our Riad and I must say my husband really was not impressed. I on the other hand and managed to pick up quite a few little bargains along the way, a decorative glass and metal hand made tray for my daughter in law, a lovely shawl for my mother in law, a basket bag for the beach, perfect for my reviews in a few weeks to the Greek islands and a beautiful hand made light for my bathroom. My husband stepped in at this point and haggled the man down to a quarter of what he was first asking….Bargain, then proceeded to tell me “ No More!!!!! ”.

If you are looking for trinkets or fake sunglasses the souks are the place for you, you can pick up a wicker beach bag for £4 in absolutely any colour and fake RayBans for only £3. Herbs and spices are on every street corner and are very reasonable. The souks have their own charm, for some it may be a little too over whelming with stall holders trying to entice you into there tiny shops filled to the brim with wares, for others this is an exciting experience with the option to barter until your hearts content.

I think Marrakech is a little like marmite …you either love it or hate it and I can truely say I love it. I am signing off for this afternoon and I am going to enjoy a little sunshine as this is my last day here this month, back again for my final trip this year at the end of June.
