At 50, I’m not going to torture myself with hours of grueling work-outs and eating salads for months at a time, but I have got to start taking my weight a little more serious and look after my skin a little more. Over the last year I have put on a stone and my body is telling me that’s enough, as are the clothes I am trying to squeeze into. So it’s time to reassess.
When I was approaching my fifties I was filled with dread, as many women I’m sure are, but on reflection I have actually enjoyed getting older, it has it’s advantages. Things become easier because you have the wisdom of life. It took me a few years, well fifty actually but I can say I’m comfortable in my skin and with who I am. I’m not trying to change anything, just fine tune it slightly. I think if you accept who you are, with that will come the freedom to do more, at the end of the day you need to try and achieve your dreams and goals, don’t hold back if you fall on your face just get up and try again.
So back to the fine tuning, we all know the main rules;
1. Remove make-up before bedtime
2. Moisturise morning and night
3. Drink plenty of water
4. Get lots of sleep
5. Use sunscreen at all times
6. Wear sunnies…..
The list goes on but I think personally I need to change my skincare range from time to time, my skin seems to react differently during different seasons. So this month I’m trying Elemis 6 piece day to night luminous skin collection that was sent to me to see how my skin can benefit, so watch this space.
