Zakynthos or Zante is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea. It is the third largest of the Ionian Islands. Zakynthos is a separate regional unit of the Ionian Islands region The name, like all similar names ending in -nthos, is pre-Mycenaean or Pelasgian in origin. In Greek mythology the island was said to be named after Zakynthos, the son of a legendary Arcadian chief Dardanus.

We are staying in a lovely family run “Hotel Pallas”, very close to the airport just ten minutes drive. So we have landed and we whizz through and the sun is shining love it already,we were greeted by Spiros from “Giant Car Rentals” who has given we a little car to get me to my hotel until he brings our little convertible this evening, fingers crossed this is Greece, we will give more details about the car rental in the magazine.

The hotel from the out side isn’t the best looking, but as you walk in it is lovely, to be honest the website pictures really do not do it justice, I am hoping that our review will encourage more people to take a look at this little gem of a hotel we have found.

So to my room, I was lucky enough to have one of the newly decorated rooms on the ground floor overlooking the swimming pool and it is a great room. Its bright, spacious, spotless. Beautiful white cotton quilts and lovely fresh towels, TV,and a shower you honestly could fit five people in, it is huge I will post pics later for all to see.

Off for a little breakfast now, this is a self serve hotel, which as you will know by now is not my most favourite but I am really enjoying the whole experience so far. x
