So our first night in Marrakech and we have decided to have drinks on the roof top terrace before we leave for our first reataurant review of our stay at Le Comptoir this evening, and what a view we have of Marrakech, it is a lovely warm evening here and I have gone for my Maje cream dress which is perfect for a warm evening out and my old faithfulls Valentino Rockstuds as I dont think I can handle a high heel on the Morrocan cobbles.

We start with a cocktail the night’s special which is mandarin and passion fruit with of course alchahol of some description ….To be honest I didn’t ask but it does taste good!

Another cocktail and we are off the food as started to arrive, Morrocan bread of three different kinds, then an amazing Morrocan salad served on a tree-like stand with seven individual bowls filled with tantalising dishes to get you in the mood for what is to follow.

We choose a bottle of-of Morrocan wine of course to compliment our main course of Harissa chicken breast with a carrot and ginger puree, it was delightful.

The entertainment then began around 10.00pm with music being played by a traditional Beber band a fusion of oriental reggae to get your feet tapping before the dancers begin. The performance builds to a grand finale of belly dancers the main event, which truly was the high light of the evening ….Thank you Le Comptois!
