I had arrived back in Marrakech, I instantly started smiling as the wheels touched the tarmac.

I’d been invited to stay at Palais Aziza and could not wait to be back in my favourite city. The plane doors opened, the smell of the place always makes me feel nostalgic. I have so many fond memories of my visits here. I’m a pro now so off the plane, landing card filled out already straight through no time to waste. I notice every time I arrive that the airport is getting better and better is looking fantastic.I had arrived back in Marrakech and instantly started smiling as the wheels touched the tarmac.

My driver was waiting outside and ready to collect my case, straight to the car and I was on my way. I’m always fascinated to watch the everyday life of the Moroccans, riding their bikes carrying everything from children to sky dishes, yes sky dishes, ladders, bags of cement chickens, you name it I’ve seen it.  Just a quick 20 minutes and I had arrived at Palais Aziza. I was surprised when I entered what feels just like a mini palace. I had looked at the website but to be honest it doesn’t do the hotel justice and I found out why after speaking with Daniela the hotel manager. She has been here for just over a year now and is slowly rebranding where required, the website being one of the things about to change.

I was greeted with a welcome orange and cinnamon drink and shown to my pavilion. These are standalone private houses, give privacy and yet are still near the pool and the restaurants. The pavilion comprises of all you could possibly need and large king size bed, sofas, a jacuzzi bath and steam room, TV, Bose music system,WiFi, coffee maker, bar, robes, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, bath gels, moisturisers, hairdryer and even a bag to use around the pool. Meaning when it comes to packing for Morocco you can just throw a few things in hand luggage and voila!

My Pavilion had its own private garden perfect for the warm evenings to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of wine, while listening to the bird song.I have been trying to workout what is different about this hotel and I think it has the benefits of a hotel, everything at hand, with the added benefit of it only having 28 rooms/pavillions/villas. It has both the charm of classic Moroccan style architecture with the muted terracotta walls and archways and the benefits of fabulous grounds. I have been visiting Marrakech for over 5 years now and I have stayed in some fantastic hotels, this has been to-date one of my favourites.

The food was superb, as was the service. I will most certainly be returning later this year as the hotel has some amazing plans. There’s one main point that I must share with you, this hotel would make an amazing wedding blessing venue and they have hosted a few weddings so far this last year, Daniela has spoken to me in great length regarding the details and she really has got everything covered so if you are looking for the perfect wedding destination I think I may have found it. They cater for absolutely everything from pretty posies for the bridesmaids, traditional wedding dresses, classic fruit wedding cake, music, hair, make-up you name it, its included visit Palais Aziza  website and take a look for yourself.
